I didnt get to play yesterday, but heck...
We won 2-0 against a team who we all believe r sourgrapes. it started off from last saturday when the organiser was confirming wif both team captains abt the date for the finals. as mentioned by some of my team mates, the fixture has already been up since beginning of the tournament, so just stick to it ah...
come yesterday afternoon, our opponent's captain said the lines on the field was oredi gone, hence it wont be good to play in dat condition, since the missing lines would make the job of the referee tougher... we still thought the game should still be on since the last fri, there was a friendly, n they could still play on dat kind of condition..
then came the bombshell... the captain or whoever he was said dat they wont be having 5 of their regular players to play, n in the name of sportsmanship, we, the NIE ppl should pospone the game to fri when the field would oredi be lined, n the 5 players would likely be able to play.. my Prof shot back, saying, in the name of sportsmanship, the game must go on, coz we all have oredi mentally prepared to play, and its their responsibility to field in players..
came another bombshell.. we led them by 2 goals to nil when it was half time. the captain then called the organiser to follow him to our group of players.. to check our identities.. to see our matric cards to ensure we were the genuine, authentic NIE staffs or postgraduates! my friends, wif some tone of sarcasm in the reply, n the smirk on their faces willingly handed their matric cards. he screened almost 5 to 6 players.. by the time the last person was fetching his matric card, he just walked away! i think he paiseh oredi!! ahaks!! coz it happened in the past that when NIE won, ppl accused us of fielding outside ppl, ppl who r not NIE staffs or postgraduates... haiz.. funny ah these ppl!
