Posting's OUT!!
Though there wasn't any classes or enrichment courses for today, we guys met up for a street soccer game at Bedok South. N no one talks anything except posting.. ya, its the "in" thing to talk abt for us graduating teacher trainees. Everyone's concerned where they'll be posted to. "Will I be posted to my Practicum School?" Some loathed thinking of going back. Some were eager to be back. One common thought: What can we expect after we get posted? Will we have to report to the school as early as possible?
I had to wait till I reach home at Asar before I know where I get posted to. I prayed at Masjid Alkaff Kampung Melayu to ask Allah to give me peace of mind, and so dat I'll "redha" or accept what He has given to me, in terms of my posting. So with butterflies in my stomach while on the phone wif Da, I opened the envelope with anticipation...
The first thing I was looking for was to find the name "New Town" in one of the lines. I was concerned if I were to get posted back, coz I didn't kinda like the way the students are. I mean, every school has its strength and weakness. For me, I don't think I'm cut out to be facing those "devils", though I know I'd get the support of my colleagues, and I kinda like the Maths Department people. So when the word "Kent Ridge" was wat i saw, I was feeling relieved, Alhamdulillah. Then later I realised wif Da, dat the school was the one we saw as we were leaving Ginza Plaza after a late lunch at Sakura Thai Restaurant. Da did mentioned to me dat she wondered wat if I were to be posted to such a school dat far.. n indeed now I'm a staff there! Well, still Alhamdulillah I praise Allah, for not posting me as far as Lakeside! coz, my practicum friend, Wai Yun, is posted to Yuan Ching Sec, next to LakeSide MRT station, n she's a Lady!! so u can imagine the distance she has to travel, n she still has yet to pass her driving!
Called the school, talked to the Administration Manager, who talked to the principal to ask if I was needed to report anytime dis week.. so again Alhamdulillah I didnt need to. Some school's principal can be so "on the ball" dat they may want the newly posted teachers to report as early as tomorrow or dis Fri! Phew, at least I only need to be in the school at 0715 on 24th May, the first day we're officially out of NIE!
So there it is, a new beginning, a new start, and insyaAllah a new move to working towards my blissful marriage preparations. Me and Da will start attending our marriage preparation course dis Sunday, and the following Sunday and Monday, since it'll be a public holiday. It's been quite a tough ride, dis month.. like other couples, we had our misunderstanding, and we've been caught in a deadlock a couple of times, but Alhamdulillah, things r going back smoothly but slowly now. Thanks Sayang, for understanding my character, tolerating my nonsense and most importantly, accepting me for the way I am, all the bad things come from me, n I promise I'll try improve myself for the best of both of us, insyaAllah! :D
Latest progress:
During the May Day Monday holiday, Da's mom invited my family to join their family picnic, and I mean an extended family gathering, complete with her grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins! It went out so well, Alhamdulillah, that mom plans to join their family's monthly religious class end dis month, insyaAllah!
Me n Da brought both our parents for a mothers' day dinner at Sakura Thai at Eastpoint last sunday, and it brought both sides together and closer, being my mom wanting to come over Da's house to have a pleasant chat wif Da's mother anytime soon, mebe dis Sunday!; Mother's Bonding I presume! alhamdulillah, really! besides Da, only Allah knows how i really feel. May He shower all of us wif his Rahmah and blessing, Amin.
